BADGLEY MISCHKA SPRING 2011

For Spring, Mark Badgley and James Mischka invoked the "timeless glamour" of White Mischief, the 1988 film about aristocratic British expats in colonial Kenya—a group that apparently dressed impeccably while behaving quite badly, particularly when the sun went down. But what better than fashion to wash away the sins of last night? The design duo cast the collection in fresh powdery pinks and icy blues that were nothing short of angelic.

There was a lot going on here, what with three collections—couture, ready-to-wear, and the contemporary Mark & James line—mixing it up on the runway, at times in a single look. But Badgley and Mischka maintained an admirably stylish coherence. You could watch a lacy jacquard strapless column from couture followed by a little linen jacket and silky high-waisted shorts finished with a beaded belt from Mark & James and not feel jolted.

Nicholas Gonzalez and Elizabeth Peña Returned in Off The Map Season 1

MITCHELL JOHNSON

Mitchell Johnson, born November 2, 1981 in Townsville, Queensland, Australia, is an Australian cricketer.

When attending a fast-bowling clinic in Brisbane at age 17, former Test fast-bowler Dennis Lillee spotted and identified Johnson as a "once-in-a-lifetime prospect" and quickly arranged for the young athlete to join the Australian Cricket Academy in Adelaide.

An athlete who started out preferring tennis, Johnson was late to focus on cricket and suffered early in his career with four back stress fractures that almost floored him for good. He persevered, driving a plumbing van when he lost his Queensland contract, and became only the fourth Australian left-arm paceman to pass 100 Test wickets.

With a strong, flowing run to the crease, Johnson can become mechanical in delivery, especially if his wrist, a long-term concern, is in the wrong position. When it's bad, he sprays the ball on both sides of the wicket like an old-fashioned firebrand. When it's perfect, there is probably no better bowler in the game.

Johnson achieved great success in 2008 when he was named Player of the Series vs. South Africa 2008-09. He followed that up a year later with another great feat -- he was awarded the International Cricket Council's 2009 "Cricketer of the Year" award, the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy on 2 October 2009.

ALBINO SPRING 2011

Like some of his more established Milanese peers, Albino D'Amato found his muse in Yves Saint Laurent this season. The first model's big, floppy straw hat was a giveaway, and the second look sealed it: a strapless onesie in spicy YSL colors, gathered in the front and with an airy, blouson shape in the back. The master's seventies glamour gave this collection a more grown-up sophistication than it had last time; Fall's baby-doll girls are now dames.

They wore strapless jumpsuits or to-the-floor trapeze dresses in bold color-blocked stripes and silk floral tapestry prints—uncomplicated pull-on-and-go vacation clothes. Or, for something more urbane: a swingy raincoat in "plastified" silk the color of cement and a linen crepe pantsuit in lavender and chartreuse with a jacket that had a vaguely Asian influence. Nineties Japanese designers were another source of inspiration, D'Amato claimed backstage. That might have an interesting effect on what he described as his growing business in Japan.
